Just to share an interesting article on Computer Games addiction, a relevant article in today’s society. Like cigarettes, video games can cause rapid brain dopamine release. How Computer Games affects studies is twofold: Firstly, an hour spent playing computer games means an hour less devoted to studies. Secondly, the rapid dopamine release from computer games desensitises dopamine receptors in the brain, making everyday activities like studying and even eating less enjoyable. Personally, I have played games like DOTA, League of Legends, Warcraft, Maplestory in the past, hence I have experienced the addictive effects of computer games. An advice would be to replace the time playing computer games with other more healthy hobbies like exercise, reading, or even taking a nap would be better for the health.
