Example:

In English, 3 most common words:

  1. the” : occurring 7% of the time;
  2. of” : 3.5% = 7/2
  3. and” : 2.8% ~ 7/3

=> “the” is 2x occurs more often than the 2ndof“, 3x than the 3rdand” …

Zipf’s Law : the frequency of the nth ranked word is proportional to 1/n.
