In English, 3 most common words:

1. “the” : occurring 7% of the time;
2. “of” : 3.5% = 7/2
3. “and” : 2.8% ~ 7/3

=> “the” is 2x occurs more often than the 2nd “of“, 3x than the 3rd “and” …

Zipf’s Law : the frequency of the nth ranked word is proportional to 1/n.
